Wayne Richardson
Head Boxing Coach (NCCP)
Wayne, the head coach at Grizzly Boxing Club, has been shaping boxers in our facility for over 13 years. Helping countless boxers reach their competitive goals. With an extensive background in both competing and coaching, Wayne’s expertise runs deep, earning him a strong reputation as a well respected coach in the boxing community. What sets him apart is his unique understanding of human movement—an insight that elevates his coaching to a whole new level. Whether he’s offering personal guidance to his fighters or reading and adjusting to an opponent in the ring, Wayne’s tactical brilliance and keen eye make him an unmatched mentor in the sport.
Darcy Irwin
Boxing Coach (NCCP)
Darcy, owner and managing director of Silvertip Training Centre, wears many hats with passion and purpose. By day, she leads innovative programs focused on cognitive health, but as the evenings and weekends roll in, she transforms into a seasoned boxing coach. Actively involved in shaping competitive-level fighters, Darcy brings a dynamic energy to the ring. Whether it’s helping recreational members gain confidence or pushing competitive boxers to new heights, her true drive comes from witnessing the personal growth of every individual who steps into the club. This dedication is the heart of her motivation.
Brad Davis
Boxing Trainer
Brad, a highly respected boxer began honing his skills at Grizzly Boxing Club, where his passion for the sport took root. With a background in high-level hockey, Brad brought a unique edge to the ring, blending agility and toughness. Competing at the national level, he’s earned his place as a fierce competitor and an inspiring role model. Today, Brad dedicates his time to shaping the next generation of boxers, sparring with young fighters and helping them sharpen their skills. His path from the ice to the ring has made him a vital mentor and a driving force in their development. He is not finished fighting yet so stand by for his next event!
Ryan Broadhead
Boxing Coach (NCCP)
Ryan Broadhead has been a successful competitive boxer with Grizzly for 11 years and has competed against nationally recognized boxers. He has an exceptionally unique style and everyone loves to watch Ryan fight! He is also dedicated to coaching at a competitive level with his NCCP certification. His ranking and practice as a boxing referee official has added a great perspective to his coaching abilities. He offers private pads sessions for recreational level as well.
Luis Salazar
Boxing Coach (NCCP)
Luis Salazar is an inspiring boxing coach and support to the club. He has boxed competitively and enjoys coaching both the kids classes as well as the competitive team. His three children box at the club and they each add to the club with their creativity and kindness. Luis has a strong sense of community.
David Adriano – BSc Kin (Hons)
Fitness Boxing Instructor, CEP – Clinical Exercise Physiologist
David offers group fitness classes and private training sessions that include fitness baseline assessments and follow up evaluations that help people who are interested in setting goals and to track their progress. During the daytime he leads the level 1 Grizzly Strides class for people living with Parkinson’s Disease.
Sarah Powers
Boxing Coach (NCCP)
Sarah joined us at 15 years of age and went on to box competitively for many years. As a competitive boxing coach Sarah stays sharp in the ring by sparring with both new and developing competitive athletes. She is very knowledgeable in the sport and is has an excellent ability to communicate. Her actions inspire more female athletes to get involved in the sport.
Ken Millard
Boxing Coach (NCCP)
Ken is quickly finding his stride in his new role as a boxing coach. Highly organized and full of enthusiasm, he’s committed to helping his students grow and thrive in the sport. With his own athletic background, Ken has picked up the intricacies of boxing at an impressive pace, allowing him to offer invaluable support to young boxers as they navigate their way to the ring. A firm believer in the power of sports to shape healthy, positive futures, Ken is passionate about guiding youth onto the right path through boxing.
Emilio Salazar
Mentorship Program
Emilio Salazar, is learning about coaching by helping out in the kids classes. He offers his help generously and always with a kind smile. He is training to earn a place within the competitive team in 2024!
Robin Shrestha
Mentorship Program
Robin is a remarkably talented young boxer who juggles his family responsibilities, schoolwork, and a dual role at the boxing club with impressive focus. We’re lucky to have him as a dedicated helper in the kids’ classes, where he not only assists but also inspires. His graceful footwork and calm, centered presence captivate the younger boxers, making him a role model both in and out of the ring. Watching Robin grow, not just as a boxer but as a future coach, is truly exciting, and his impact on the next generation is already undeniable.
Evan Shelley
Mentorship Program
Evan has made great efforts in his own life to be a part of our club! He is an active boxing competitor and fitness boxing instructor as well as an assistant trainer in the kids boxing classes.
